JOB SUMMARY – To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will have a leadership role for the development of AngioDynamics budget and strategy as well as ownership for all internal reporting activities. In addition, the individual will provide financial leadership for supporting mergers & acquisition efforts. The role will have responsibility for coordinating and preparing quarterly business presentations for the Board as well as the monthly financials review to leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive process and develop annual budget and key financial forecasting, along with insightful performance reporting and analysis and initiate corrective action as require;
  • Develop and prepare monthly profitability analysis of actuals vs budget and forecast, including preparation of monthly internal reporting and quarterly board presentations. Lead financial analytical efforts to understand key profit/loss parameters and initiate corrective action to address users;
  • Be a finance partner with various departments, providing financial guidance and support strategic and operational planning;
  • Maintain and improve current processes, and create new processes to produce, collect, analyze and report data;
  • Own the planning tool (Planful), including overseeing administration, tool enhancements, scenario modeling;
  • Provide support for mergers and acquisition activities as well as corporate development transactions, including financial leadership for R&D licensing deals;
  • Management of direct report, including coaching and guidance on performance and career progression;
  • Provide analytical/special project support to VP Finance and functional leaders;
  • Participate in self-development activities and training of others;
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS–The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree or MBA in field of study: Accounting or Finance preferred;
  • Equivalent work related experience acceptable in lieu of degree: No;
  • 7 years of demonstrated experience in financial management with increasing responsibilities in an organization with global operations;
  • Experience within companies with revenues of more than $300 million;
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience leading global financial analysis, budgeting/forecasting preferably within a large publicly traded company;

Skills/Knowledge

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities including the ability to influence others outside of direct management sphere of influence;
  • Proficient in the following computer software applications: Microsoft Office, PowerBi, Budgeting and reporting tools
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally;
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance, instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
