Job Description

The Medical Science Liaison is a field based position and is a key position supporting the business franchises, the sales team and our physician relationships. The position will be responsible to develop relationships within the medical/scientific community, provide medical and/or scientific data about AngioDynamics products and research to healthcare professionals. Clinical, scientific and technical expertise will be maintained by the MSL through review of scientific literature, attendance at assigned medical meetings and self-learning.
  • Manages his/her territory and associated field based activities related to marketed and research productions including healthcare provider education on the Company’s products and disease awareness.
  • Assume leadership role in new projects as assigned and serve as an expert resources to internal colleagues.
  • Facilitates KOL development.
  • Provide scientific support in the assigned business unit including responses to unsolicited requests for medical information in accordance with all applicable guidelines and procedures.
  • Provides clinical information for the company’s products. The support will primarily include addressing unsolicited complex medical inquiries including off-label issues.
  • Complies with all relevant related guidelines, standards and regulations pertaining to medical information. Create SOP’s for other processes as required.
  • Compose and maintains standardized response letters.
  • Performs continual independent review of medical/scientific literature on the company’s and competitors’ products and devices.
  • Clinically evaluates medical/scientific literature and determine appropriate usage
  • Obtains appropriate approvals on scientific and clinical education resources and activities
  • Serve as an internal and external educator, providing timely, balanced training regarding relevant diseases, referral patterns, therapeutic options, and product requirements.
  • Attend assigned medical and scientific meetings and symposia to: a) maintain awareness of current issues and new data pertaining to assigned products and; b) to communicate scientific information.
  • Works cross functionally to ensure successful integration and execution of approved tactics and resources with R&D, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Business Development and the Franchise business leads.
  • Demonstrates leadership behaviors and maintains alignment to compliance goals and policies.
  • Assist in the development of and updates to corporate research priorities.
  • Effectively integrate customer and business needs in a satisfactory manner.
  • Actively participates in department and cross functional meetings
  • Serves as a resource and mentor to field team members and will participate in new projects as assigned. May be asked to assist with field ride alongs, assessments of field team members and actively participate in clinical cases as assigned
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
